Description
A day my husband will never forget as it involved a hike into the back country, his first time in TRNP, and his first time witnessing the wild horses.
Eternally Wild was part of the 2018 Blaze Tribute calendar and graced the month of January. We have decided to continue to offer the print and have it become a permanent part of this collection in honoring and remembering this colorful mustang.
“The freedom that nature-mystics look for beyond the human scene is like the spiritual realm of the religious, a human thought-construction. Seeking to escape yourself by chasing your own shadow is a vain pursuit. But if you look with eyes that are not covered with a film of thought, you may come to a scene that can only be seen once.” ~John Gray
When he stepped from the around the butte one last time, and stopped and stared, and the sun set him on fire—well it was just one of those scenes in nature where if you remove your thoughts and see and attempt to feel what he represents, you will understand the spiritual depth of these wild horses and I learned a valuable lesson about respecting a wild animal’s home.
Born wild in Theodore Roosevelt National Park in 2002 Blaze lived as intended until sometime around March 19th, 2017. In his prime as a band stallion he perished fighting with another stallion. He did not see his fatal last step and his spirit forever lies in the badlands that claimed him. He will be eternally missed!
Your fine art print of Blaze, will be printed using a ten color printer with archival inks and produced on a German paper, Hahnemuhle 308, a 100% cotton photo rag fine art paper with a deckled edge. This open edition, 19×13, fine art print will be nothing like what you see on your monitor, your print will be richer, filled with more detail, color, and contain impressive pictorial depth. Each print will be signed with a graphite pencil and when framed using archival methods will be an investment into the history of a powerful wild mustang to pass down to future generations.
We will donate a percentage of the sale of this print to Walk By Faith Therapeutic Riding, a non-profit located in northern Minnesota, who use wild horses adopted from Theodore Roosevelt National Park in their programs, providing hope to the lives of children and veterans.
