“May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with fairies and talk to the moon!”

Gray Ghost changed worlds in 2018 in the fall of his life and the fall of the year. The Gray Ghost Collection was created to honor his contribution to the wild horse world! He was born in the year 2002, a mere sixteen years he made an impression on the thousands who encountered him on their drive through the loop road!
This image, Wild Faerie, was captured in June of 2015 on the Fly Without Wings journey. The morning was heavy with ground fog, an unusual phenomenon in the mostly dry climate of the badlands of North Dakota. Gray Ghost was a bachelor stallion in June of that year. A couple of months prior to this he had lost his long time harem to those two bachelor brother’s, son’s of the stallion, Gary, Teton and Wild Rye. Both of those stallions now have their own prominence as band stallions. Teton taking on the role of park greeter as his harem is often the first band seen after crossing the cattle guard and Wild Rye keeping his harem near the old entrance to the park.
The toil of defending a new harem he had acquired was too much for him! Gray Ghost was second to Blaze from this artist’s heart, as he was often the second stallion to be sought out to see what artistic wonders he would offer.
