Wild Passions! Cheering them on to become a ‘band’, here is their story.
… and through it all and afterwards they would be together, making their own world where nothing mattered but the things they could give to one another, the loveliness, the silence, and the peace.”
― Daphne du Maurier, Frenchman’s Creek
“Still one of my favorite stories from my time in TRNP is the one of Flax and Mischief. Being able to witness the history of a new band being born between two very beautiful wild horses and sharing that story with my co-workers and friends, Melissa and Lincoln, makes the memory even better.
In 2015, two-year-old Mischief had her own story and that is where it started, the day she was driven out of her band! Who knows if her band stallion, Cocoa, knew it was time for her to go and find her own life? I like to believe that, but not everyone will and that’s okay. From that day on Melissa and Lincoln and I hoped Flax would find her and make her his own! So when he did there was much cheering from us two girls as Lincoln sighed at our giddiness!
One of my favorite moments of them together, shortly after Flax found Mischief, is this tender and honoring moment shared at water!”
