Description
I used a quote about a mosquito on the backstory to this image, Wild Purpose! Wild band stallion, Satellite is truly a stallion that shows no fear in adversity! Here is his story – Make A Difference!
“If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito.”
― Dalai Lama XIV
“The small and mighty, Satellite! He defiantly defends his mares, takes on any comer, and is not afraid to step up to a challenge. As a young stallion he would consistently circle the other bands until he picked off his own harem. Thus the name, Satellite.
I do not know how he lost the tip of his ear or where the huge lump on his chest came from. I DO know he gained my respect the day of this image!
We were checking on his newest addition, Rocky, when he came running out of a gully below us. He barreled right by us, with a purpose in his eye, up the hill toward a challenging stallion. The other stallion dwarfed him by comparison. Satellite, head bowed and neck arched, turned his compact body to him, squealed, struck out with his front feet, and within seconds he had the other stallion on the run over the hill.
The quote from the Dalai Lama is so fitting for this 14-year-old, pesky mosquito in the wild kingdom of horses!”
