Description
“The world is wilder than that in all directions, more dangerous and bitter, more extravagant and bright.”
~Annie Dillard
Southern Wyoming almost to the Utah border is a wild country! Desolate, remote, and in those gaps and gullies, sage and snow one will find wild horses, but only if you have an adventurous sidekick with a trusty vehicle who isn’t afraid to go on the hunt on days when most people stay home in front of a fire!
That was this day! Early in October 2018! An early snow had hit the area and I only had two days out of my two weeks on the road to try and get into the back country and find wild ones. My willing partner wasn’t afraid to stalk and belly crawl and huddle in the wind and blowing snow to observe this wild band led by that colorful overo stallion. Once they caught sight of us, off they went! For who could blame them! Weird looking creatures, the two of us, Ian and I, on our bellies!
We thanked them profusely for providing this image in their Wild Country!
