Description
“There is nothing quite so gentle, deep, and irrational as running—and nothing quite so savage, and so wild.” ~Bernd Heinrich
This is an award winning image of three quarter horses known as Olive, Annie, and Tugboat! After a fresh snowfall they play like kids and came thundering by in their brief moment of energy and expression! The Winter Solstice here in Minnesota can provide many types of weather and this solstice day was classic snow beauty.
Annie the matriarch, the 26-year-old quarter horse mare, the one in the middle coming at you is having as much fun as Olive on the left (her right) and Tugboat on the right (her left).
I do believe my horses enjoy winter as much as I do, and when it starts to snow they play, seriously play, just like kids!
