Little Shadow
“What is life?
It is the flash of a firefly in the night.
It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime.
It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.”
~Crowfoot, “Blackfoot warrior and orator”
I sort of feel like this should be called TBT (throw back Tuesday (not Thursday)) post!
This is Acadia, born on May 2nd, the evening before this image, at about 6:30! We arrived only minutes after her momma, Sapphire, had delivered her!
My husband, Michael was visiting that weekend along with dear friends Christine and Carissa from South Dakota. It was one of the moments were events took on more meaning because of the presence of wonderful people! That became a theme through the remainder of the weeks at TRNP.
The evening she was born we witnessed her first steps, her half brother trying to beat her up, and other mares defending her from said half brother. We witnessed Cocoa, her band stallion and poppa, standing at guard on the ridge top.
I think that is why I am drawn to this image of this little mite with the long spider legs, because of the moment shared with friends and that special person in my life, Michael. Besides what’s not to love about whiskers and ears?
Have an awesome day in your part of the world! As always thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support!
